Next time you’re making something with beetroot, save the leaves.
Did you know the leaves are full of minerals, such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, copper, manganese and iron? Not to mention vitamins C, E, K and B! They also contain protein, fibre and nitrate, which is then used by the body to increase nitric oxygen production which keeps blood flowing to working muscles.
Beet leaves also help lower blood pressure, relax blood vessels and helps circulation. They’re also a natural aid for liver detoxification!
There are so many different ways to use them, from salads to stir fry or you can drink it in a smoothie or juice!
No wonder whenever I eat beetroot my stomach sings happiness!
